She's Away !!!

Nuala started the swim at 0422 on Saturday 26th July 2008 !!

Everyone met at the Burstin Hotel reception at 0315 with an air of excitement, anticipation and of course apprehension !!

The Viking Princess pulled along side the harbour at about 0340 and looked in magnificent condition and brightly lit up with lights all over the rigging.

Nuala, Ian, Ian, Susan, Dave and Chris climbed down a rusty old ladder fixed to the harbour wall and got on board with the observer. The crew of Reg and his brother loaded on the bags and kit and they set off at about 0350.

The boat chugged around the headland to Sandfire Hoe and then Nuala was put ashore. At 0422, a hooter was sounded and she set off on her way. The sea was very calm and there was a gentle off shore breeze. Perfect conditions !!
